How to Prep For Your Shoot

The idea of doing a photography session might be a little nerve racking... but it doesn't have to be. We're here to put your mind at ease with some tips and tricks of the trade.

When you contact us, we'll go over what you'd like for the finished product. Where you'd like to do the shoot; what locations are available in your area, backgrounds. Are you wanting a session for a gift, or will the best images end up on your wall? 

We discuss the process: how we get the animal to pay attention, and what they should or should not wear or use during the session. We also discuss how the person's energy affects the animal. The calmer the human is, the more the animal will relax with us. Being in a photo shoot with flashes and strangers can be a little daunting for a pet. We have decades of experience in creating a calm environment for pet and owner.

Another thing that is very important is how the person dresses. We go over color and style that will work best to coordinate with the animal. Especially for lighting. As an example, wearing white with a dark colored animal is never a good combo. So we help you figure out what's best.

We also want to know if your animal has a favorite toy, treat or words that get their attention. Bring these items with you to help us make the session go smoothly.
